What a browser DWG viewer is for
A DWG lands in your inbox and the software that made it costs more for a year than the job is worth. That is how most people end up here: a contractor's floor plan, a landlord's fit-out drawing, a part sketch from a supplier. You need to look at it and reply the same morning, not start a trial and reboot twice.
Drawings arrive crowded. Layers let you switch off dimension text, hatching or furniture until only the wall lines are left, and you can pinch or scroll to zoom into the corner that matters. When the file carries three-dimensional geometry a 3D button appears on its own and shows it as a wireframe you can spin; edges only, because shading curved surfaces takes a full CAD kernel.
To pass it on, save what you see as a PNG for a chat message, or as a vector PDF that stays sharp when someone zooms in or prints it at A3. Text keeps its own alphabet: the PDF embeds a font chosen from the characters the drawing actually uses, so Korean, Japanese, Thai or Cyrillic labels survive the export. Reading, drawing and exporting all happen in the browser, so the file itself never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need AutoCAD installed?
- No. The drawing is parsed and drawn by your browser, so any recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox will do.
- Is my drawing uploaded anywhere?
- No. It is read on your own device and nothing is sent to a server.
- Which files open?
- DWG from R13 through the 2018 format, and DXF. The viewer is read-only, so it cannot save a drawing back to an older version.
- Can I see 3D parts?
- A 3D button appears when the drawing carries three-dimensional geometry. Solids are shown as a wireframe — edges only, with no shaded faces.
- Why is some text missing or boxed?
- Drawings that use SHX or big-font shapes keep those glyphs in a font file on the author's computer, not inside the drawing. No viewer can reproduce them exactly, so a substitute font is used.
