HWP to PDF

Convert HWP/HWPX to PDF in the browser without Hancom Office. Choose vector (print) or image PDF (download).

This tool does not upload your files. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

Why convert HWP to PDF

HWP is the document format of Hangul Word Processor, the office suite used by most Korean government offices, schools and universities. If someone in Korea sent you a .hwp or .hwpx file, the rest of the world cannot open it: Word, Pages and Google Docs all refuse it. Converting to PDF gives you a file that opens anywhere and looks the same on every device.

The download is a raster PDF: each page is a JPEG rendered at 1.5x, 2x or 3x, so its text cannot be selected or searched. The separate Print button sends SVG pages to the browser print dialog; choosing Save as PDF there keeps text selectable.

Nothing is uploaded. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser, so contracts, transcripts and personal records never leave your computer. No account, no watermark, no daily limit, and no Hancom Office licence required.

    Click Start.

  3. 3

'Vector PDF' uses the print dialog; 'Image PDF' downloads directly.

Frequently asked questions

Fonts look different.
Fonts missing on your device are substituted.
Which option?
Vector for selectable text; image PDF for identical appearance everywhere.
Do I need Hancom Office installed?
No. A browser is enough, on macOS, Windows, Linux or a phone.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the file is never transmitted.
Can it open password-protected HWP files?
Yes, if you know the password. The tool asks for it when you convert, and the PDF it saves has no password.
What about old HWP 3.0 files?
Only HWP 5.0 and HWPX are supported.
