Convert Word documents into Korean HWPX
Korean schools and government offices frequently require submissions in Hangul format. If you wrote the document in Word and do not own Hancom Office, converting to HWPX lets you meet that requirement.
Fonts, spacing, tables with their merged cells, borders and shading, images, footnotes, headers, footers and page setup are carried across; link targets are not. Open the result in Hangul or the free Hangul viewer once before submitting to check the layout.
HWPX opens in Hangul 2014 and later. For older versions, tick 'Also save as .hwp binary'.

- How much formatting survives?
- Fonts, sizes, colours and letter spacing, alignment, indents and line spacing, tables (merged cells, column widths, borders, shading), images, footnotes, headers, footers, page numbers, page size and margins carry over. Link targets and first-page or even-page headers do not.
- HWP or HWPX?
- Hancom Office 2014+ opens both. Choose .hwp for older versions.
- Why would I need HWPX?
- Korean institutions often require submissions in Hangul format.
- Will the layout be identical?
- Formatting and page setup carry over, but fonts are not embedded, so line breaks can shift where a font is missing. Check it before submitting.
- Which Hangul versions can open it?
- Hangul 2014 and later.
