A PDF without opening Word
Someone sends a .docx and asks for it back as a PDF. You are on a machine without Word, or on a phone, or the document is a contract you would rather not hand to an online converter that wants an upload first.
The document is rendered in the browser with its page breaks, headers and footers, and the export goes through your own print dialog, where you choose Save as PDF. Paper size and margins come from the document itself rather than the dialog, so each printed page matches the preview.
Legacy .doc files are not supported: open one in Word and save it as .docx first. Complicated layouts, unusual fonts and field codes can shift slightly, so it is worth reading the preview before sending anything that matters. The file stays in your browser throughout.
