Edit metadata
Inspect and change the PDF title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer, or remove them all along with the dates.
This tool does not upload your files. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
Checking what a PDF says about you
Every PDF carries a small record of where it came from. Author fields routinely hold a previous employee's name, the producer field names the software and version you use, and a document built from a template can name the template's original owner. None of it is visible on the page, and all of it travels with the file when you send it outside your organisation.
The six standard fields are read from the file and shown as they stand: title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer. Edit any of them and save, or tick the remove-all option to remove all six at once along with the creation and modification dates. The page content itself is never touched, so the document looks identical afterwards.
Only the document information dictionary is handled here. Newer XMP metadata, anything embedded inside images, and text that is merely hidden or cropped out of view all remain in the file, so treat this as tidying up rather than as sanitising a document for release. A genuinely sensitive file should also be checked for content that is off the visible page area.
