PDF to Image

Slides, chat messages and web forms all take images far more readily than they take PDFs. You might need page 2 of a floor plan inside a presentation, a product sheet as a thumbnail for a listing, or a single certificate page that a print shop asked for as JPG. Turning pages into images also gives you something you can crop, annotate or paste without any PDF software at all.

Scale is the setting that matters: 1x gives a screen-sized page, 2x is comfortable for slides and detailed reading, and 3x or higher is worth it only if the image will be printed or cropped hard. Output can be PNG, JPG or WebP; choose PNG for text, tables and line drawings, where lossless edges stay crisp, JPG for photographic pages where a smaller file is worth a little softness, and WebP when you want both and the destination is a browser or a recent app rather than an old print workflow. You can also give a page range instead of converting everything, which is the quickest way to get the one page you actually need and keeps a long document from exhausting the browser, since it is scale multiplied by page count that causes trouble.

The result is a picture, which means the text inside it can no longer be selected, searched or copied by anything that opens it. If you need the words rather than the appearance, pdf-to-text and pdf-to-docx are the right tools, and image-to-pdf takes you back the other way. Pages are rendered and zipped locally, so the document stays on your device.
