Location QR Code Generator

Create a QR code from latitude and longitude that opens the spot in a map app. Good for shop directions, event venues, meeting points and where-I-parked notes.

This tool does not upload your files. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

Long-press a spot in Google Maps to see its coordinates, then paste them here as-is.

Higher levels survive damage better but make the code denser. Use H if you plan to place a logo on it.

Adding a logo locks error correction to H. Test-scan before printing.

Type something and the QR code will appear.

Directions in a single pin

A shop down a side street, a new office that maps have not indexed yet, an event in a field with no street address: an address alone is often not enough to find them. A location QR code carries latitude and longitude, and scanning drops a pin on exactly that spot in a map app. On invitations, event posters and car-park signs it saves a lot of 'where exactly are you' phone calls.

To get the coordinates, long-press the spot in Google Maps and copy the numbers that appear. There are two formats. The map link opens on iPhone, Android and desktop, in a browser or in Google Maps, so it is the safe choice for most audiences. The geo: format launches the default map app straight away on Android, but the iPhone camera may not recognise it, so choose it only when you know who will scan.

The map link points at Google Maps. If you want a specific app such as Apple Maps or a local map service, copy that app's own share link and make a URL QR code from it instead. Coordinates are processed in your browser and are not stored anywhere.

How to use

  1. 1

Long-press the spot in Google Maps and copy its coordinates.

  2. 2

Paste them as 'latitude, longitude' and pick a format.

  3. 3

Scan the preview to confirm the pin, then download.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter an address instead?
Only coordinates are accepted. Search the address in Google Maps, long-press the pin and copy the coordinates shown.
Map link or geo: format?
The map link opens on iPhone, Android and desktop, in a browser or Google Maps. The geo: format launches the default map app directly on Android but the iPhone camera may not recognise it. When in doubt, use the map link.
Can it open Apple Maps or another map app?
The map link points at Google Maps. To target a specific app, copy that app's share link and make a URL QR code from it.
Are the coordinates sent anywhere?
No. The code is drawn in your browser.
