SMS QR Code Generator
Create a QR code that opens the messaging app with a phone number and message ready to send. Useful for waitlists, RSVPs, opt-ins and support requests.
This tool does not upload your files. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
Higher levels survive damage better but make the code denser. Use H if you plan to place a logo on it.
Adding a logo locks error correction to H. Test-scan before printing.
Type something and the QR code will appear.
A text message without saving the number first
Joining a waitlist, replying to an invitation or opting in to updates takes one short text, yet saving a number and typing a message is just enough friction that many people never do it. An SMS QR code carries the number and the message, so scanning opens the messaging app ready to send. On a counter sign, a restaurant waitlist card or an event poster, that difference shows up directly in response rates.
Type the number with or without dashes; only digits and the plus sign are kept. If visitors from abroad may scan it, use the international form with your country code. Write the message the way the receiving side can act on it, for example 'Waitlist, party of 2', and leave room for the sender to edit. The code uses the SMSTO format, which the built-in camera apps on both iPhone and Android understand.
Nothing is sent automatically: the person sees the message and presses Send, so a scan can never trigger an unwanted text. The number and message are processed in your browser only. Sending costs follow the scanner's own plan, which is worth mentioning on the sign if the receiving number is in another country.
