QR Code Reader (from image)
Upload a photo or screenshot containing a QR code and read its contents: links, Wi-Fi details, contacts or plain text. For codes on your own screen or in a PDF that a phone camera can't reach. The image never leaves your device.
This tool does not upload your files. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
Reading a QR code you cannot point a camera at
QR codes assume a phone camera, but the code you need is often on the very screen you are looking at, inside a PDF on your computer or in a photo someone sent. Instead of fetching a second device and photographing the screen, drop the image here and read it directly. A screenshot pasted with Ctrl+V is the fastest route.
The result is sorted by type. Links are shown as an address you can open, Wi-Fi codes are broken into network name and password, and contact codes are listed field by field and can be saved as a .vcf file. When nothing is found, the code is usually too small or blurred: crop closer, leave a little margin around it and zoom in before capturing. A badly tilted code or several codes in one picture may return only the first one, or nothing.
The image is processed in your browser and never uploaded. For codes from unknown sources, check the domain of the decoded address before opening it; a shortened link can hide an entirely different site, which is exactly why this tool shows the address rather than opening it for you.
How to use
- 1
Choose or drop an image that shows the QR code, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.
- 2
Check the decoded content and its type (link, Wi-Fi, contact...).
- 3
Open links, save contacts as .vcf, or copy the text.
Frequently asked questions
- Can it scan live with my camera?
- No, it reads image files only. On a phone, the built-in camera app already recognises QR codes and is faster.
- Why can't it read my image?
- Usually the code is too small, blurry or tilted. Crop closer, leaving a little blank margin around the code, and zoom in before taking a screenshot.
- Is the image uploaded?
- No. Decoding runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Is it safe to open the link?
- The decoded address is shown first so you can check the domain before opening it. Be especially careful with shortened links from unknown sources.
